Q: What are Quick Shine® Multi-Surface Floor Finish and Quick Shine® Hardwood Floor Luster and how do they work?
A: Our Floor Finish and Hardwood Floor Luster are water-based polymers that dry to a hard finish and provide an unmatched gloss on sealed hard flooring surfaces. Each product is also formulated to provide slip resistance to ensure a safe walking surface after application. Once applied to the floor, be sure not to walk or touch the film until it is dried completely. After 30-45 minutes (depending on humidity, temperature, and other environmental elements), the finish will be dry to the touch. Additional coats may be applied after a minimum of 45 minutes (ideally 60 minutes) to ensure the previous coat is dry enough to accept subsequent coats. It is important to avoid introducing water to the finish for the first 4-5 days and allow a full cure. This will prevent any water from reabsorbing back into the film and potentially causing white water spots to appear.
Q: What’s the difference between the Hardwood Floor Luster and the Multi-Surface Floor Finish?
A: Both products are water-based polymers, but the Hardwood Floor Luster is fortified with pure, carnauba wax that is absent in the Floor Finish. We have also altered the ratio of the ingredients in the Hardwood Floor Luster to be more specific for use on hardwood flooring.
Q: How can I clean my floors after applying the Quick Shine® Multi-Surface Floor Finish?
A: Dust mopping is the best practice during the first 4-5 days after applying the Floor Finish. It is recommended to refrain from cleaning with our Floor Cleaner until the finish is fully cured (4-5 days). Periodic cleaning using our Quick Shine® Multi-Surface Floor Cleaner or Quick Shine® Hardwood Floor Cleaner via our Multi-Surface Spray Mop and microfiber pad is the recommended process. We do not recommend flood-coating the floor during cleaning; instead, it is better to use a damp mop pad or spray mop to apply the cleaner to the flooring surface. Our ready-to-use cleaners have been specifically formulated to clean your finished floor without leaving any streaking or residues like many other household floor cleaners.
Q: What’s the difference between the Quick Shine® Hardwood Floor Cleaner and the Quick Shine® Multi-Surface Floor Cleaner?
A: These two products contain similar cleaning agents; however, the ratios of these ingredients have been altered in the Hardwood Floor Cleaner to create a product that is more conducive to a hardwood flooring surface.
Q: Can I use the Quick Shine® Multi-Surface Floor Finish on oil-based flooring?
A: No, it is not recommended to use our Quick Shine® Multi-Surface Floor Finish or Quick Shine® Hardwood Floor Luster over a flooring surface that has an oil-based finish because our floor finishes are water-based. Our products would not adhere to an oil-based product; instead, they would bead up on the surface.
Q: I didn’t allow my Floor Finish to dry completely before accidentally dripping water on the floor. How can I fix it?
A: White spots are caused when water drops onto the floor finish during the drying/curing process. Since the Floor Finish is water-based, the presence of water on the surface of the finish during the drying/curing process will cause the finish to absorb that water, creating white spots. Even though the finish is dry to the touch and able to be lightly walked on after only 1-2 hours of applying the Floor Finish, it still has to have time to cure.
If you are unable to keep water from dripping on the floor in the curing process (4-5 days after application) we recommend placing temporary rugs/towels in front of appliances/sinks where water drops may occur. If you do not want to use temporary items, and you allow water drips that create a white spot, do not try to repair the spot immediately. Allow the area to dry overnight, and then apply the Quick Shine® Multi-Surface Floor Finish or Quick Shine® Hardwood Floor Luster directly to a clean, damp, soft cloth and apply only over the white spot and the immediate surrounding area. Allow to dry for a minimum of 2 hours and it will again, look uniform with the rest of your floor.
Q: Can I use the Quick Shine® High Traffic Hardwood Floor Luster on my “hardwood” laminate floors? If not, what do you recommend?
A: Our Hardwood Floor Luster and Multi-Surface Floor Finish can be used on laminate flooring. We have several customers that have used both products with success on their laminate flooring to provide a luster or shine. It is important to note that caution should be used not to flood coat a laminate flooring surface. It is recommended to apply thin coats.
Q: Can I use the Quick Shine® Hardwood Floor Luster on my engineered hardwood floors? If not, what do you recommend?
A: Absolutely. Sealed-engineered hardwood floors respond very well to our Hardwood Floor Luster product. It is recommended to apply 2-3 coats to achieve the best shine, especially if the flooring surface is distressed in any way (weather-look, aged, etc.).
Q: Can I use the Quick Shine® Multi-Surface Floor Finish on my outside porch or in my garage?
A: Our floor finish products have been developed and formulated for indoor use applications. It would not be our recommendation to use our products where outdoor conditions are present.
Q: The Quick Shine® Multi-Surface Floor Finish wasn’t applied to my floor properly and now, there are streaks on the floor. What did I do wrong?
A: Streaking is usually caused by a few issues: 1.) Not enough product was initially applied and you can correct that with an additional coat; 2.) There was residue on the floor before the Floor Finish was applied. Some examples could be: furniture polish, air freshener mist that has settled on the floor, etc.; 3.) The same applicator pad used to clean your floors is being used to apply the Floor Finish; 4.) Not allowing sufficient time before applying subsequent coats; 5.) Trying to apply too many coats in a short period of time, not allowing each coat to dry completely.
Q: Can I use a buffer over the Quick Shine® Multi-Surface Floor Finish or the Quick Shine® Hardwood Floor Luster?
A: It is not necessary to buff our floor finishes as they are dry bright formulas. You simply apply it to your floor and it dries to a bright, gloss finish. Additional coats will build the gloss to a level that is satisfactory to your preference.
If desired, our Quick Shine® Hardwood Floor Luster can be buffed with a floor buffing machine; however, it is not recommended to buff our Quick Shine® Multi-Surface Floor Finish product.
Q: I’ve applied the Quick Shine® Multi-Surface Floor Finish to my floors. Can I use a steam cleaner on it afterward?
A: It is not recommended to use steam cleaners on a floor after applying the Floor Finish. Steam cleaners drive water vapor into the finish, which can affect the floor finish and cause adhesion loss.
Hello, I applied the Floor Finished to my engineered wood floors, and for the first time, they look shiny and perfect! However, about 3 hours later at dinner, scratches appeared where people were scooting chairs in and out from the table. I’m ordering soft felt to go on the bottom of the chairs. Will I have to remove the finish and redo the whole floor? Or will applying it just over the scratches work?

You can simply reapply a new coat of Finish in those areas by applying with a clean, damp cloth. The finish was still curing and scooting furniture across it during the cure time can lead to light scuffs. Our state of the art self-leveling agents in our formula can fill in micro-scratches and even out the appearance again. If the finish was actually scratched away, you may need to spot treat the area with Quick Shine Deep Cleaner to remove the finish first, then reapply a new coat. Hello! I am a professional cleaning and sanitation worker who has been using Quick Shine products on renovation and reality properties for years now. I decided to finally use the products on my own floor at home because my floors were starting to look dingy and gross. My question is, how long do I have to wait before moving furniture back to ita place? I can obviously move it out of the room for the time being, but we still would like to get back to normal quickly.
Great question Mercedes. We recommend waiting a few hours before moving furniture back in. It is extremely important to lift instead of scoot furniture to avoid scratching or scuffing the finish.
I have a laminate floor in my kitchen/hallway. It is 12 years old. I wanted to renew the shine on it and applied the deep cleaner product to it. I followed the instructions but it turned out a disaster. I used the floor cleaner on it and floor finish to try to clean it again but that helped only in the hallway. The kitchen area is streaked, Coates with residue and looks very bad. I worked in areas about 5 ft by 5 ft. and spent the better part of 8 hours on it and it obviously has to be redone. Any thoughts on what I am doing wrong??

I had been using Holloway cleaner and floor finish. I did call Customer Service but did not hear back. I watched the video on the deep clean product and started all over again. Some of the area did become milky. I have completed cleaning the floor with the deep cleaner and am waiting til it all dries. As the first time, I worked on areas about 5 ft by 5 ft working through the whole area. I will check it when it is all dry and see if any of it needs to be redone then I plan to put the floor finish on it. I am hoping it will all turn out ok. But it has been hours of work!!

Thank you for your feedback. After letting the Deep Cleaner sit for 2-3 minutes, mop away the solution. You should be able to see if the residue is off of the floor. You may have to add more solution if you notice the finish is not dissolving well. Finish with a clean water rinse to bring your floors back to their original condition. Quick Shine Deep Cleaner was specifically formulated to remove layers of our Finish so we are confident it will work properly. Unfortunately it does take time depending on square footage.
I have done the floor twice following the directions you refer to. About 70% of the floor looks ok. The rest of the floor is very spotty and dull. Can I just redo that area with the Deep Cleaner? Will it all eventually blend together? I have taken a lot of sediment off all the floor but am assuming some still remains in the spotty area. Thank you.

Yes, you may need to repeat the process in the dull areas until the remaining finish is completely removed. Chances are, some finish had softened by not completely dissolved.
I have a fiberglass tub and I use Holloway for my floors and it works perfectly can I use this product on my bathtub?? No I have not

We DO NOT recommend this for water environments like tub and showers as the shine can easily become compromised. Quick Shine is great on bathroom floors though!

Hi. This product was used on my floors by a cleaniny company. Although the floors look nice, the finish doesnt match the othet rooms or the style of the home w original floors. The floor now had a wet laminated appearance. Is there a way to reduce the shine or possibly lift without refinishing floor? Thank you!

Can a little stain be added to Quick Shine? My floors are old and there are places that are more worn than others. The Quick Shine helps but it is still lighter in the worn spots.
Hi Susan. Unfortunately we do not recommend adding stain to the Finish as it will interfere with the product performance/adhesion to your floors. Our finish is water based.
Can you damp mop with Holloway luster

Yes, the best way to apply Quick Shine Hardwood Floor Luster is with a clean, damp microfiber mop. Simply squirt the Luster out of the bottle and spread with your damp mop and allow floor to dry completely before walking on the surface.
We applied quick shine multi surface floor finish on tile, this tile was previously months before treated with a grout sealer; when we applied the product now it looks like the floor is dirty, what product can I use to remove quick shine multi surface floor finish ?

We recommend using Quick Shine® Deep Cleaner to safely remove our Finish from your floors. This product was specifically developed to remove polymer and wax finishes without harming hardwood floors or other types of hard surface floors such as tile, vinyl, stone, marble, and laminate. It is also important to note that Quick Shine® Deep Cleaner can also be used to treat small imperfection areas of the floor without treating the entire floor.
Simply dilute the Deep Cleaner in HOT water and apply to the floor surface in small 5’ x 5’ squares at a time, let stand for a few minutes and agitate. Remove debris and build-up from each 5’ x 5’ area of the floor with a clear water rinse. For heavy buildup, you may need to increase the dilution of 1 cup per gallon to 3 cups per gallon. Deep Cleaner is concentrated, therefore one 27 oz. bottle will make roughly 2 gallons, which covers about 500 square feet and will not damage the sealant on hardwood floors. It is also important to note that Quick Shine® Deep Cleaner can also be used to treat small imperfection areas of the floor without treating the entire floor. After treating the small problem area let dry after rinsing and simply wipe a coat of the Quick Shine® Floor Finish on the treated area. This area will then blend in with the rest of the finished floor due to the advanced leveling agents in the formula. Could you add a water based stain to Quick Shine.

We recommend spot treating the affected areas with a mixture of 1 cup of ammonia and 1/2 gallon of HOT water and allow solution to sit 2-3 minutes before wiping away. This will bring you back to the original floor surface. Once the floor is clean and dry, simply reapply a new coat of finish to blend the appearance.
I used Quick Shine Cleaner (purple bottle) on a laminate floor. Floors became really foggy how can I remove the product?

We recommend rinsing your floors with plain tap water to remove any residue remaining. Our Quick Shine Hardwood Floor Cleaner is pH neutral and does not contain and harsh chemicals. Do you rinse your mop pad frequently as you clean sections of your floors? To avoid pushing dust/dirt around and hazing the floor, we recommend rinsing the pad occasionally.
I am getting scuff marks on my wood floors after applying Quick Shine (way after the suggested drying time, 2 or 3 weeks). Any suggestions on removing the scuff marks.

Have you tried buffing with a soft cloth to add “heat” to the scuff to bring the shine back yet? You can also spot treat any affected areas with Quick Shine Deep Cleaner and reapply. We typically recommend applying two coats for added durability the first time using our Floor Finish.
I used the quick shine on laminate flooring and see I miss areas. Can I touch up these areas with the quick shine without stripping the whole floor. I did purchase the deep cleaner and wonder how much of an area one bottle will clean. It was not the concentrate. Thank you for any help.

Yes, you can go back over the missed areas and blend to even out the appearance of the floor. We recommend applying the Finish to a clean damp cloth and wipe over the missed areas. You should not have to remove the Finish.
I used a microfiber pad to apply the floor finish, and forgot to rinse the pad after. The product and pad is hardened now even after washing. What can I do?

We recommend soaking your pad in a mixture of 1 cup Ammonia and 1/2 gallon of HOT water for about 30-45 minutes. Rinse pad to release the finish from the pad to soften the fibers once again. This method has worked for other consumers with similar issues.
I applied Quick Shine Luster in an “S” shape as instructed and I still see the S shaped residue on my floor. Please help!!

You can spot treat and remove the “S” shape with a mixture of Ammonia and HOT water. Apply solution, let sit 2-3 minutes and wipe clean. Once the Finish is removed in that area, simply reapply a new coat of Finish to even out the appearance of the floor.
