How to Use Our Quick Shine® Deep Cleaner

Deep Cleaner to the rescue!  Many of you have asked if there are any tips or tricks to the Deep Cleaner process so you can reapply the Quick Shine® Floor Finish to get your floors back to that WOW factor.

Today, we are happy to share with you the recommended steps below to give you confidence in conquering your floors like superman!  The Quick Shine® Deep Clean Kit comes with a microfiber scrubber pad and a 16 oz. bottle of the Deep Cleaner.  The microfiber scrubber pad is absolutely amazing and highly recommended to use during this process!

The Quick Shine® Deep Cleaner was specifically developed to not only deep clean, but also to safely remove our finish from your floors.  Quick Shine® Deep Cleaner/Wax Remover will also remove other waxes and finishes without harming hardwood floors or their polyurethane seal or any other type of hard floor surface.  Below are 6 quick tips on how to use our Deep Cleaner:

  1. In a bucket, dilute the Deep Cleaner in HOT water as HOT water is more effective.
  2. Using a sponge mop or our Hardwood Floor Mop, apply to the floor surface. Do small sections (5’x5’) of the floor at a time in order to maintain a more manageable removal and clean-up.
  3. Allow the Deep Cleaner solution to remain on the floor for a few minutes. CAUTION:  Do not allow the solution to dry and re-adhere to the surface.  If solution appears to be drying, add a little warm water to keep the surface wet.
  4. The Quick Shine Floor Finish that you are removing should start to turn to a milky white film indicating the finish is being removed.
  5. After a few minutes, agitate with our microfiber scrubber pad. Aggressive agitation and elbow grease are typically required to remove ground-in dirt and multiple layers of the finish.
  6. Once you have removed the floor finish, rinse the area with clear, warm water and allow to dry. Then you can proceed to the next 5’x5’ area and repeat steps 1-6.

NOTE:  For heavy build-up, you may need to use a second treatment and/or you can also increase the dilution from 1 cup per gallon to 2-3 cups per gallon.  Deep Cleaner is concentrated, therefore it makes 3.5 gallons (at 1 cup per gallon), which should be enough for 500 square feet.

After completing this process, once your floors have completely dried you can now reapply a coat of our Quick Shine® Floor Finish or Quick Shine® Hardwood Floor Luster to bring your floors back to life giving them the shine they deserve!

We hope these simple steps have helped you with using the Deep Cleaner correctly and efficiently.  Now you can proudly wear that S on your chest and have triumph for your floors!

    Hi,

The previous owners always used quick shine on our hardwood floors, so there is likely a buildup. To protect the floors while moving in, I applied the stick-on floor protection film sold by Lowe’s and upon removal, it appears that the quick shine pulled off? I have large areas of dull floor where there is a distinct edge where the stick-on floor film stopped. I tried buffing and applying more quick shine to these areas and it its helping, but not completely fixing my problem. I do not think that the stick on film harmed the polyurethane on the floors. What do you recommend to restore my floors appearance in this situation??

      Hi Matt,

The tape did not affect your original finish but most likely our Finish. Our Quick Shine Deep Cleaner can be used to spot treat the affected areas. Simply dilute our Deep Cleaner with hot water and apply to the area. Allow solution to sit for 3-4 minutes and mop or wipe away. Quick Shine Deep Cleaner is only available online at this time at http://www.quickshine.net or http://www.walmart.com. For more information, please contact customer service at 800-255-1891. I applied Quick Shine Finish on my unsealed wood-look tile but slowly it seems like the color of the tile is coming off. I was told by the manufacturer of the wood-like tile to remove the Quick Shine Finish from the tiles. How can I remove the solution that is already in the tiles without affecting the wood-like design of the tiles?

      Hi Josephine,

You can remove Quick Shine Finish with Quick Shine Deep Cleaner. Simply dilute our Deep Cleaner with hot water and apply to small sections at a time. Allow solution to sit for 3-4 minutes and mop or wipe away. You may have to repeat the process and leave the solution on a little longer if your tiles are porous. Quick Shine Deep Cleaner is only available online at this time at http://www.quickshine.net or http://www.walmart.com. For more information, please contact customer service at 800-255-1891. Quick Shine Deep Cleaner will remove acrylic based finishes so it could potentially remove some of the paint on the floor. We recommend testing a small area first.

    Hi,

I used Quick Shine on my dark hardwood floors after having some work done in my house. I think there must have been some dust still on the surface, because now there are horrible streaks. Is it okay to use the deep cleaner on a floor that is stained, or will it also strip the stain? I need to fix this because it looks awful.

Can I use the hardwood luster with the hardwood shine that you offer? And if so, which one do you use first or how often should you use these products?

      Hi Stephanie,

Yes, both products are compatible and can be applied over existing dry coats of one another. We recommend to start with Quick Shine Hardwood Floor Luster as it is fortified with Carnauba wax and will add durability. For application tips please contact customer service at 800-255-1891. We are always happy to help!
