How To Fix Dull Floors

If your floors are only a few years old and you already see a definite dullness to them, the underlying issue may be how you are maintaining them. First you need to think about a few things:

How do I clean my floors?

What am I cleaning with?

Addressing the first issue, how do you clean your floors? Do you dust or vacuum frequently? Do you use the same dusting pad throughout your home or do you switch them often? Pushing dust around will instantly make floors look dull. How about damp mopping? Do you rinse your mop frequently? Again, rinsing the pad often will release the dust/dirt from the pad and prevent streaking or hazing your floors.

Next, what are you cleaning with? Do you use concentrated cleaners, “smelly good” cleaners, vinegar or oil soaps? These cleaners are often loaded with surfactants that cling to the floor and leave dulling residue behind. Over the course of a few years, the floors never look clean.

So now you are wondering how to get back to that new floor look without sanding, refinishing or spending hours on your hands and knees scrubbing. Quick Shine has an entire line of floor care products dedicated to making cleaning easier. With a product for every need, Quick Shine can restore the color and beauty to your floors.

Start with a deep clean. Use Quick Shine Deep Cleaner to remove buildup, ground-in dirt and other residue as well as any previous waxes that may be on your floors.

Once your floors are clean and back to their original condition, simply maintain them on a weekly basis by dry dusting with this microfiber pad. Microfiber is positively charged acting like a magnet to attract negatively charged dust, so it doesn’t just pick up materials, it is able to effectively store them unlike disposable cloths that often just push dust around.

For heavier surface soil like paw prints or spills, simply dampen your microfiber mop and wipe clean using our Multi-Surface or Hardwood Cleaners. These cleaners are ready-to-use, are zero-residue and will not leave a dulling film behind as they are not loaded with surfactants. Not to mention, SAFER!

If your floors are less than new and have really taken a beating over the years, our Quick Shine Multi-Surface Floor Finish or Hardwood Floor Luster will provide a protective, rich shine filling in surface scratches and provide an even appearance for that new floor look. Simply Squirt. Spread. Done! Dull floors? No more!

      Hi Yvonne,
Once you stain the floors, allow the stain to fully cure 14+ days before applying our Hardwood Floor Luster to assure proper adhesion of our Finish.
