I used this to clean up a matte finish hardwood floor when I was moving out of my rental apartment. The landlord complained it’s too shiny now and that I ruined his floor. Is there any way to get it off? I don’t want to lose my security deposit.

    Yours truly,

      Hi Ben,

Yes, we recommend removing Quick Shine Finish with Quick Shine Deep Cleaner. This product was specifically developed to remove polymer and wax finishes without harming hardwood floors or other types of hard surface floors such as tile, vinyl, stone, marble, and laminate.

Simply dilute the Deep Cleaner in HOT water and apply to the floor surface, let stand for a few minutes and agitate. Do small sections of the floor at a time. Then remove debris and build-up from the floor with a clear water rinse. For heavy buildup, you may need to increase the dilution of 1 cup per gallon to 3 cups per gallon. Deep Cleaner is concentrated, therefore one 27 oz. bottle will make roughly 2 gallons, which covers about 500 square feet and will not damage the sealant on hardwood floors. For more information, please contact customer service at 800-255-1891. We are always happy to help!

I used the high traffic high luster product on polyurethane wood floors. I don’t think it was the correct product for these floors and has resulted in a terrible appearance. Can I use the Deep Cleaner to remove the high luster product without further damaging the wood?

Hi. I’m renting for the first time. My apartment has vinyl flooring in the kitchen and bathrooms. They look clean, but there’s no shine. I know not to use the one for hardwoods, but not sure which other Quick Shine I should I use. Also, will Quick Shine make the floors slippery? Thank you for your help.

      Hi Randi,

We recommend Quick Shine Multi-Surface Floor Finish (green label) to add a shine to your vinyl floors. Our Finish contains anti-slippage agents to provide a safe walking surface. Once the floor is dry, you will not feel any slipping.
